Telehealth is treated the same as face-to-face services, as long as you abide by the state licensure guidelines based on your patient's location at the time of treatment and as long as you are utilizing a HIPAA-compliant platform to deliver the telehealth services.

Our Professional Liability Insurance does not extend coverage for the practice of dry needling techniques in patient care. While we strive to offer comprehensive protection for Allied Health Practitioners and Mental Health Professionals, certain specialized procedures fall outside the scope of our standard coverage. If you perform or plan to perform dry needling, you should seek additional, specialized coverage. Always verify your scope of practice and insurance coverage before incorporating new techniques into your practice.

My employer's practice/hospital provides coverage for me, do I still need my own policy?

You should always keep your own best interests in mind to protect your career and your livelihood. Even if your employer has a policy, you may not be covered if a claim is filed against you. Having your own policy ensures you have the resources you need to defend yourself and protect against claims. Further, most employer policies do not cover legal defense expense reimbursement for Board Investigations/Complaints or Non-Party Witness subpoenas for records and testimony as we do under our program.

Does my professional liability insurance protect me from malpractice claims?

Your professional liability insurance is designed to defend and indemnify you from covered claims brought against you by patients who may allege a multitude of wrongdoing, surrounding the failure to meet the standard of care, including but not limited to:  improper treatment, failure to diagnosis, negligent hiring and supervision, errors and omissions, medication errors and the like.

Proof of coverage may be issued on the same day your application is approved, and payment is received. Your certificate of insurance will be emailed to you (usually by the next business day after approval and payment). A Declarations page will be sent to you via USPS shortly thereafter.
